The new global winter league will culminate in Finnish Lapland from 9 to 11 April 2027, bringing world-class freeskiing, snowboarding and live music to Ruka Ski Resort.
X Games Ticket Sales Now Open – Finnish Athletes in the Draft Tonight

The MoonPay X Games League championship will take place from April 9–11, 2027, in Ruka, and ticket sales for the event have now opened. Although the event will be broadcast globally, the spring fell landscape offers a unique action sports experience on-site—along with X Fest, a celebration of music and urban fashion.
The Winter Season athlete draft will be held in Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 16, at 7:00 PM local time, which is 5:00 AM Finnish time tonight. The draft will reveal which of the world's top athletes will be seen in Ruka—and which Finns will secure their spots in the MoonPay X Games League. The Finnish athletes who are eligible to be selected for the draft include freeskiers Anni Kärävä, Elias Syrjä, Jon Sallinen, Juho Saastamoinen, and Kuura Koivisto, as well as snowboarder Rene Rinnekangas.
Snowboarding superstar and world champion Mia Brookes is one of the athletes highly likely to secure her spot in the X Games. She has trained a lot in Ruka and thoroughly enjoys the landscapes of northern Finland.
"I grew up watching European X Games events, and it was always really cool to see an event like that so close to home. It's incredible that the X Games is coming back to Europe, and it's going to be absolutely amazing in Ruka. I'm really excited!" says Brookes, a two-time X Games gold medalist.
Her compatriot, Great Britain's freeski star Zoe Atkin, will be visiting Finland for the first time. Atkin won her second career X Games gold medal in Aspen in 2026 and also celebrated an Olympic bronze medal last winter.
"I'm really excited about the new MoonPay X Games League destinations this winter. I love traveling to new places, and I've never been to Finland, so I'm especially excited to get there for the XGL finals. I grew up watching European X Games events, so it's awesome to finally be part of it myself," Atkin commented.
The first event of the MoonPay X Games League will be held in Aspen, USA, in January, the second in Calgary, Canada, in February, and the series-ending championship will take place in Ruka, Finland, in April.
