When the more mature members of the family spend time on Ruka Slopes and other winter adventures, the smallest family members enjoy snow sledding.
Snow sledding in Ruka-Kuusamo is free of charge with the exception of Snow Tubing in Rosa & Rudolf Family Park, snow tobogganing on Ruka Slopes in the evenings and possible other snow sledding included in adventures and activities.
Rosa & Rudolf Family Park provides an action-packed Snow Tubing track that you can reach conveniently with magic carpet lifts. Snow tubes and helmets are available for everyone with a Family Park area pass and a ski pass.
You can slide down Ruka Slopes 5, 16 and 18 in the evening with a snow racer, Saturday to Thursday, from 19:30 to 21:30, after the slopes have closed for skiers. There are a limited number of snow snow racers for hire!
You can rent the equipment needed for snow sledding conveniently from Ruka village’s Piste rental shop or Ruka East’s VuosselinPortti rental shop. Snow gliders and sleds can be bought from RukaStore and Sale Ruka.
Ski-Inn borrows snow sleds free of charge for its guests from the reception of Ski-Inn Hotel RukaVillage. A limited supply of snow sleds, no advance reservations!
Snow sledding on Ruka Slopes is only allowed in designated areas and at certain times. Snow sledding slopes will be opened according to snow conditions.
Ruka village’s snow sled slopes
Ruka Village’s snow glider slope (next to the playground) and the snow sled slope in Ruka village/Front Slopes are open.
Masto snow sled slope
There is a wide and long sled slope on the Mastorinne slope next to the Välirinne slope and it is open on natural snow. Plenty of parking, a lean-to shelter with a campfire site, bathroom facilities at Masto’s base station (open according to lift opening hours).
Kids'Club snow sled slope
A toboggan run next to the Gondola and the Kids Club in the Valley and it is open on natural snow. In the vicinity of the hill you will find Rosa & Rudolf Family Park and the services of RukaValley.
