New for Winter 2025: Shared Car “Maisa” in Ruka
Maisa is located in the semi-heated Ruka Parking Hall and it can be rented via an application for the time needed (just a couple of hours or several days).
Right at the base of Ruka Park, the compact and functional 25 m² apartments come with a full kitchen and are well-equipped to accommodate up to 4 persons.
The resort combines exclusive privacy of the elegant glass-roofed accommodation with easy access to guided activities, making it the perfect base for Arctic adventures year-round.
Ruka-Kuusamo received the prestigious Scandinavian Outdoor Award Travel. Also a local entrepreneur Heidi Savolainen was honored for her pioneering work in accessible tourism.
Construction of Saarua Village will begin in summer 2025, with the first buildings completed by Christmas 2025. The entire area is expected to be developed over the next 5 to 10 years.

The views from the sauna overlook the Valtavaara Nature Reserve. Scenery sauna has 30 seats and the restaurant 150 seats and a spacious glassed-in terrace.
Plenty of new charging stations for electric cars in Ruka
Nearly 50 new charging stations for electric and hybrid cars have been taken into use in Ruka Parking Hall, Ruka Valley and Talvijärvi areas during winter 2024-2025.
