Bike Park Intro Course, Green Level
In this course, you'll learn downhill riding techniques and how to ride according to the features of green-level trails. Speed and balance control, along with proper riding posture, are essential skills on downhill trails. The course also includes practice on using the Gondola lift with a bike.
After the course, you'll be ready to enjoy the thrill of downhill riding safely on Ruka’s long and well-shaped green-level trails. Our technique tips will also help on the more challenging sections of off-road mountain biking trails.
This course is available:
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from June 23 to August 8 starting at 10:30 AM.
Reservations must be made by the previous midnight.
Course price: 43 €. Suitable for children, youth, and adults from age 9 and up.
Bike Park intro course package: from 74 € up to 97 €.
Price includes course, 4-hour bike rental (MTB or full suspension), helmet, and 4-hour lift pass.
What’s included in the price
Instruction in downhill biking techniques and lift usage. Duration: 2 hours. Age: from 9 years and up - adults. Group size: 3–10 people.
Course starts at 10:30 AM. Meeting point and sign: Corner of Piste Rental on the slope/gondola lift side.
PRICE: 43 € / person. Minimum 3 participants, otherwise the course duration is shortened relative to the group size.
Reservations must be made by previous midnight.
You can also book a package: course + 4h lift ticket and half-day bike rental.
The package price depends on the student age and bike selected, from 74€ up to 97€.
- Children's MTB bike: 20" (110cm–130cm), 24" (125cm–150cm), 26" (140cm–165cm)
- Children’s full suspension bike: 20" (115cm–135cm), 24" (128cm–150cm), 26" (145cm–155cm)
- MTB bike: S (155cm–170cm), M (165cm–180cm), L (178cm–190cm), XL (185cm–198cm)
- Full suspension bike: S (151cm–170cm), M (168cm–180cm), L (178cm–190cm), XL (188cm–210cm)
If you wish, you can also book a protection set, which includes knee pads, elbow pads, chest protector, and full-face helmet: 4h rental €19.
What’s not included in the price
You’ll need a cyclist’s lift ticket and a front suspension mountain bike or DH bike.
If you don’t want to book the package, you can also buy the lift ticket and rent the bike separately from our online rental shop.
Cyclist’s lift ticket: e.g. 4-hour ticket: Under 12 years €19,50 and over 12 years €30
From Piste Rental, half-day rental:
- MTB (hardtail XC) juniors 26 € / adults 32 € (includes helmet)
- Adult full suspension bike 43 € (includes helmet)
- Downhill bikes (includes full-face helmet) 52 €
Note! Please book your bike well in advance. You should be at the rental shop at least 30 minutes before the course starts.

Price example: 2-hour instruction = 134 € / 1–2 people, additional participants +33 € / person (3–max 10 people).

What should I bring?
Please bring drinking water and dress according to the weather. Thin gloves/riding gloves are recommended for better grip in both cold and warm weather. Helmet is a mandatory item.
