The most exciting swimming event of the summer!

A unique open water swimming event at Oulanka River on Saturday 31st of July 2027.

Challenge yourself and your pair in this great event in the beautiful sceneries of Oulanka National Park! Participants register and progress in pairs. The total distance of 24 km includes transitions of about 4 km, which are completed by foot. Also shorter 12 km distance available.

Mandatory equipment includes a neoprene wetsuit, swimming goggles, swimming cap, safety floating device and neoprene slippers. Every couple carries also a mobilee phone in their safery floating device. You do not have to be a superman or superwomen, ordinary swimming skills and good physical condition is enough. Slow running river and the floating effect of the neoprene wetsuit assist in the challenge.

Registration

The summer 2027 registration opens 27th of September at 6 pm.

The participation fee includes, among other things, transportation from Ruka to Oulankajoki, event maintenance and security, swim photos, and a finisher package with meals and products.

The event is organized in the area of Oulanka National Park, where activities are subject to stricter restrictions than Everymans' Rights in general. Rules of order of Oulanka National Park are followed in all aspects.
