Interest in the region among Dutch travelers has grown in recent years, and the new flight connection responds to increasing demand by strengthening the supply of travel options from Amsterdam to the winter activities of Kuusamo.

“Our mission at Nordic is to stay innovative in what we offer. We’ve been organizing trips to Swedish and Finnish Lapland since 2010, but not yet to the Ruka-Kuusamo region. We look for destinations that aren’t overly commercial – and Ruka-Kuusamo earns its place thanks to its beautiful nature and authenticity. Ruka-Kuusamo is especially known for its authentic nature experiences. Dutch travelers seek Arctic adventures, and the new direct connection brings them easily into the heart of northern winter magic. The launch of this flight series is part of long-term efforts to improve accessibility to Ruka-Kuusamo and strengthen its position in international markets.

“The Ruka-Kuusamo region offers visitors high-quality nature-based activities, a diverse range of accommodations from international hotels to charming cabins, and restaurant services of international standard. The new charter flight series supports the internationalization of our region and brings more travelers to the entire catchment area of Kuusamo airport,” Haarma adds.
