Ruka's ski school offers high quality instructing in English for snowboarders of all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or advanced enthusiast, our devoted and qualified instructors will take you to the next level. We offer 3-day and 5-day courses that include one 1h 45min lesson per day (so-called "half-day courses"). Take a look at the course description and book your own course online!
Snowboarding group courses (levels 1–3) – duration: 3 or 5 half days (1h 45min per day)
Have fun on the slopes and learn new skills on snowboard! On this course we offer lessons in two different skill level. You can check your own skill level from our skill guide here.
LEVEL 1 (FIRST TIMER): LEARN TO SNOWBOARD COURSE for 8 to 11 YEARS / TEEN & ADULTS
If you haven’t tried snowboarding yet, this is a great way to start. You will first become familiar with your snowboard gear, learn to control speed, stop and turn in both directions, and as you develop, you will become more confident with your new skills and also learn how to use ski lifts. At the end of the course, you will be able to snowboard on your own on easy/gentle slopes and fully enjoy the new experience and skills.
LEVEL 2–4 (BEGINNER - LOW INTERMEDIATE - INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED):
SNOWBOARD COURSES for 8 to 11 YEARS / TEENS & ADULTS
These groups are for people who already have at least some experience of snowboarding. Participants will be split into groups according to their skill level at the beginning of the course. Whatever the starting level, we guarantee that you will receive a wonderful ski/snowboard experience with lots of new skills.
Availability: 11.12.2023–19.2.2024.New groups starts on Mondays
Duration: 3 or 5 half-days, 1h 45min lessons per day, consecutively days.
Skill level: 1 or 2–4
Group size: min. 4 person / group / skill level.
- Morning class: 1st day: 11 am–12.45 pm, 2nd day–5th day: 10 am–11.45 am
- Afternoon class: 1st day–5th day: 2 pm–3.45 pm
- Note: Groups starting at 5th and 12th of Feb are already fully booked.
- Note! At 25th of DEC Morning class starts at 2pm, and afternoon class starts at 4pm.

- 5 half-day course (5 x 1h45min) 195 € / 5-11 yrs and 218 € / teen & adult
Meeting place: Ski School groups meeting place is beside of the Ski Bistro restaurant terrace / in front of the Mini-Ruka area and Buttom-lift. That is at East side of Ruka ski area, and near by the Valley rental / the Family Park and the Gondola-lift Valley bottom station.

Choose from the Rate -space correct length of the course and skill level. Once you are filling booking details, you may request morning or afternoon group schedule. Bookings must be made in advance, no later than the day before the course by 3 pm. We recommend making your reservation well in advance especially during school holidays.
