Enjoy an unhurried sauna experience at the House of Northern Senses Modern SPA Style Sauna, only about a 15-minute drive from Ruka.
Relax in the warmth of a modern Finnish sauna, swim in the heated indoor pool and spend time in the comfortable sauna lounge. Between sauna sessions, cool down in our sheltered Vilpola relaxation area or step outside into the fresh northern air.
Choose your own way to cool down. In summer and autumn, take a refreshing swim in Lake Pikku Porontima. In winter, cool down in soft snow or experience an authentic Finnish ice dip. The heated indoor pool provides a wonderfully warm contrast to the fresh northern nature throughout the year.
The Open SPA session is shared with other guests booked for the same time. The number of participants is limited to keep the atmosphere peaceful and relaxing.

What to bring
Please bring your own swimwear. A towel is included. Lake swimming, ice swimming and cooling down in the snow are undertaken according to each guest's own health, ability and judgement.
Food, drinks and transfers
Bringing your own drinks is not permitted. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase on site. The House of Northern Senses lounge bar can be enjoyed before or after your sauna when the facilities are not reserved for the private use of staying guests.
You can complement your SPA experience with pre-ordered food and refreshments. Return transfers from Ruka Village or Kuusamo town centre can also be arranged subject to availability. For meals, pre-ordered drinks and transfers, please contact info@northernsenses.com.
