Experience the gentle heat of an authentic Finnish smoke sauna in the peaceful lakeside surroundings of House of Northern Senses, only about 15 minutes from Ruka.
Our traditional wood-heated smoke sauna is located on the shore of the fell lake Pikku Porontima. Step directly from the sauna into the fresh lake water throughout the year – and into an ice hole in winter. With a maximum of 10 guests, the experience remains peaceful and unhurried.
The open smoke sauna session is shared by women and men, and swimwear is worn in the sauna.

Food, drinks & transfers
Complete your sauna experience with a pre-ordered Sauna Menu, available to select when making your booking.
Bringing your own drinks is not permitted. Soft drinks, non-alcoholic options and alcoholic beverages are available to purchase on site.
The House of Northern Senses Lounge Bar is available for sauna guests before and after the sauna when the house is not reserved for private use. Enjoy a drink and relax by the fireplace before or after your sauna experience.
Transfers from the Ruka area or Kuusamo and additional meals can be arranged in advance. Special drink requests, such as Champagne, can also be pre-ordered.
