Experience a classic part of Finnish sauna culture in the traditional wood-heated lakeside sauna at House of Northern Senses, only about 15 minutes from Ruka.
The sauna is located right on the shore of the fell lake Pikku Porontima, surrounded by peaceful nature. Between the gentle heat of the wood-fired sauna, step into the lake throughout the year – fresh lake water in summer and an ice hole in winter.
The open sauna session lasts 90 minutes and is limited to a maximum of 6 guests, keeping the atmosphere peaceful and unhurried. The sauna is shared with other guests who have booked the same session. Swimwear is worn in the sauna.

Food, drinks & transfers
Complete your sauna experience with a pre-ordered Sauna Menu, available to select when making your booking.
Bringing your own drinks is not permitted. Soft drinks, non-alcoholic options and alcoholic beverages are available to purchase on site.
The House of Northern Senses Lounge Bar is available for sauna guests before and after the sauna when the house is not reserved for private use. Enjoy a drink and relax by the fireplace before or after your sauna experience.
Transfers from the Ruka area or Kuusamo and additional meals can be arranged in advance. Special drink requests, such as Champagne, can also be pre-ordered.
