The ever-charming “Lumiukon seikkailu” will enchant audiences on the Oulankasali stage this December!
Based on the beloved winter story “The Snowman”, this multidisciplinary performance showcases an abundance of local creativity and talent, featuring around 200 performers!
This unique production brings together music, gymnastics and dance in a delightful and captivating whole. The music and soundscape are performed by talented musicians from the Kuusamo College of Music, while the graceful movements of the Kuusamo Gymnastics Club interact with the music. The Kuusamo College´s breakdance groups add rhythmic and joyful energy to this magical story.
The performance is based on the animated film “The Snowman”, written by Raymond Briggs in the 1980s and directed by Dianne Jackson and Jimmy T. Murakami, featuring music composed by Howard Blake. The performance also includes other music. An orchestra consisting of students and teachers from the Music Institute will perform live at every show. The orchestra is conducted by Claudio Ordaz.
There will be three performances from 9–11 December 2026. Each performance begins at 6:00 p.m. and lasts approximately 60 minutes. The Snowman’s Adventure is also suitable for the youngest members of the family!
The Snowman Café will be open in the foyer of Kuusamotalo before each performance from 5:00 p.m. onwards. The admission ticket includes a gingerbread biscuit and juice. The café will also offer a selection of light snacks and drinks for purchase, as well as a small programme of activities.
Welcome to enjoy a family-friendly performance where a winter wonderland comes to life!
