Independence Day light torch Parade and Fireworks
Welcome to join the Independence Day torch parade. The torch parade will be led by the ski school from the middle of Kuru slope (slope number 5) towards the village of Ruka.
Start location of the parade: The middle of Kuru slope, where slope 7 (Easy route to the village) connects to Kururinne. Everyone is welcome to join the parade (lift ticket needed). Torches will be handed out to participants at the starting point.
Immediately after the torch parade, there will be a fireworks display at approximately 6:45 PM. A great spot to watch the fireworks is below Front slopes, by the shore of Kaltiolampi.
Please note that the gondola will be closed during the fireworks and the lights on Kuru slope will be turned off.
