Throughout the tour, you'll admire the stunning light installations of the Polar Night Light Festival, which create a magical atmosphere in the winter landscape. And if we're lucky, we might even witness the northern lights dancing across the sky.

Tour details:
- The tour is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays January 13–29, 2026
- Start time: 18:00 – please arrive at Piste Rental Shop by 17:30 to get your snowshoes and prepare for departure at 18.00 sharp.
- Tour duration: approximately 1.5 hours (snowshoe walking part 1h - 1h15min )
- The tour begins at Piste Rental Shop, from where we take the gondola lift up to the top of Ruka (one way gondola ticket needed if you don't have a valid ski pass) and from the summit we start the snowshoe walking.
- We will be back at Piste Rental shop at the latest 19:15 to return the snowshoes.
Prices (including snowshoes):
- Children (ages 9–11): €35
- Youth and adults (12+): €40
Please note:
- The tour requires a minimum of 4 participants to take place
- Minimum age is 9 years
- The gondola lift ticket is NOT included in the tour price. If you don’t already have a valid lift pass, you can purchase one from the Ruka online store
- When booking, please provide your shoe size and height so we can prepare suitable equipment for you
- NOTE: Participants must have weather-appropriate outdoor clothing: warm hat and gloves, winter jacket and pants (recommendation: pants with so-called “snow gaiter” at the hem) as well as warm winter boots, preferably high-shaft (no sneakers or high heels). Snowboard boots can be rented from the rental shop if needed.
