Vuosseli Ski Area

Vuosseli is the best known and the most popular ski area at Ruka. The fast Vuosseli Express chairlift takes you on top in 3.5 minutes. The ski area also has Rosa & Rudolf Family Park, Rudolf Adventure Route with reindeers and huskies and the SuperPipe.

The slopes of Vuosseli are suitable for beginners and advanced skiers alike. Finland’s first super fast 6-seater chairlift was opened on ski season 20005-06 and the duration of the lift ride decreased from 10 minutes to only 3,5 minutes. The chairs are equipped with a see-through cover - a bubble providing a nice shelter against cold and windy weather of midwinter. Single lines are in use so that every spot on each chair in used efficiently and the day on the slopes doesn’t have to be spent on queuing. From the top of Vuosseli you can easily move also to the Front Slopes, challenging Kelo slopes, Masto and Saarua ski areas as well.

Services in Vuosseli Ski Area

VuosselinPortti is a fully equipped rental shop and ski pass sales point. Colorado Express in next door serves burgers and snacks as well as sweet delicacies. The SkiBistro slope restaurant serves next to Rosa & Rudolf Family Park. Next to new Village-2-Valley gondola you will find the Bar-Café Ski Booster and at the bottom of the slope Ahonlaita (27) there's a cafe and bar RoySki Pub.

Toilets and service rooms are available at the bottom of lift M and in all slope restaurants.

Rudolf Adventure Route

On the left side of Vuosseli’s Ahonlaita slope, hidden in the forest, you will find Rudolf’s adventure route. The route can be entered from the gate situated halfway up the Ahonlaita slope 27. The fixed route runs zigzagging down a gentle slope and finishes at the final part of Ahonlaita slope 27, from where you can easily reach both Kulma and Vuosseli Express lifts.

You are warmly welcome to meet and adventure with Rosa and Rudolf’s forest animal friends. Along the route you will also find a reindeer farm and Erä-Susi huskies greeting the skiers and snowboarders on their snow vacation. The families’ smallest get to see reindeers and huskies also on foot by walking along the slope 27.
