RUKA FREESTYLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS WERE TECHNICALLY A JACKPOT
|
Finns are known for their ability to put up a good competition. Ruka Freestyle World Championships were now exception. Organizing Committee was highly complimented for their efforts. - I did not think this was going to be such a success, General Secretery Marko Mustonen admitted.
This was the first time Ski Cross and Half Pipe were among the World Championship disciplines. This caused plenty of extra work for the organization due to the two new competition sites and the double amount of competitors.
Mustonen thinks Ruka World Championships have been a great advertisement for the sports and this will generate a lot of good things in the future. Chairman of the Organizing Committee Tatu Lehmuskallio agreed and gave his sincere thanks to the hundreds of volunteers. |

- It was a bit exciting to put up such a big competition but for vane, as we can see now, he said. - We went beyond and above our basic goals. Lehmuskallio wants to bring out the great efforts made by Ruka Ski Resort. - Ruka Ski Resort has built a lot of sites for these competitions and the co-ordination has been perfect, he complimented.
”The highest possible scores”
The Freestyle Co-ordinator of the FIS Joe Fitzgerald was eager to put in some big wards when estimating the way Ruka World Championships were taken through. - I’m really happy about these competitions. This was a historic event, he said. The decision of taking Ski Cross and Half Pipe in as new disciplines was done six years ago and saw its finalization at Ruka. - I predict a great future for these sports. - It’s had to give a score for the whole event, but the sites, competitions and organizers I definitely give the highest possible scores, he complimented.
Big and warm thanks go to the volunteers and the large amounts of spectators, who really lived every moment of the competitions! Thank you!
