The Oulanka Visitor Centre (in Finnish Oulangan Luontokeskus) is a customer service point of Metsähallitus where visitors of the Oulanka National Park are served.
You can get information on hiking, camping, the National Park as well as other neighbouring nature preservation areas from here. The Visitor Centre is located on the Karhunkierros Trail (Bear’s Trail), the distance to Kiutaköngäs rapids is 1 km.
At the Centre, find a permanent nature exhibition, reference library, and auditorium where visitors can watch multivision and video shows free-of-charge. Here you can also choose your next hiking destination in the electrical information point.
The nature exhibition shows the typical birds and mammals of the area. There are different presentations and you will receive guidance in questions related to nature. You can even explore nature by computerized multimedia. The young computer which kids of the family can advise their parents... You will find more information about the Visitor Centre on our own website.
The Visitor Centre also provides all the necessary licences and maps. SafariCafe Susi serves food everyday, cafeteria, souvenirs, Safari-info & -sales. Rental snowshoes, walking poles and canoes.
Fishing permits for National Park waters are available here.
During the summer you get into the atmosphere of Oulanka's summer in the marked trail as Hiidenlampi Nature Trail ( 5 km) Kiutaköngäs Day Trail (8 km) and Rytisuo Nature Trail (5 km). What a silent feeling and beautiful landscape.

Driving instructions: From Kuusamo along the Kemijärventie road (no. 5) - Sallantie road (no. 950) - Liikasenvaarantie road and the visitor centre is along this road before crossing Oulankajoki River.
