Ruka is the official sponsor and training centre of the Finnish Freestyle Team.
Freestyle Centre was opened for the use of the team as well as for common skiers during the ski season 2002-2003. Find out what's up in Finnish freestyle skiing?
Freestyle Centre is situated in the heart of all the action near Ruka Village. The course length of Battery Run is 225 metres and the vertical is 106 meters: gradient totals 53 %, i.e. 28 degrees. Take a run down through the moguls - if you dare!
The aerial site is located next to the moguls. Both sites are clearly visible from the sunny terrace of Restaurant Piste! Furthermore, Freestyle Centre was completed during the Summer 2003 when the FIS-approved Super Pipe was constructed in Vuosseli.
2005 Freestyle World Championships were the largest ever competition held in Finland. |
