RUKA VILLAGE - UNIQUE PEDESTRIAN VILLAGE IN RUKA!
The pedestrian village of Ruka is unique project in Scandinavia. Plans were initiated already back in 1999 with the Ruka Master Plan. The concept of building a pedestrian village and relocating car park under the village was brought to life with the guidance of the globally renowned Ecosign Mountain Resort Planners Ltd, specializing in ski resorts.

After several years of planning and construction the pedestrian village is now ready! Ruka parking hall was opened in 2008 and Hotel RukaVillage in October 2009. Ruka Pedestrian Village consists of the following entities:
- Hotel Rukahovi, RukaSuites Apartments, Shopping Centre Kumpare and other existing facilities
- The half-warm underground parking hall for 320 cars, opened in April 2008
- Street-level business facilities create a unique atmosphere for the village with numerous little shops and restaurants
- Hotel RukaVillage and apartments (opened October 2009)
