The first ever arctic strongman competition challenges 10 of the strongest men of the world to battle for the title of Iceman.A new chapter of history is written in Kuusamo Lapland Region in March, when the most demanding strongman competition of the world brings together the world´s toughest men.
The competition will be brutal in the exotic and testing environment. There is no weather clause or frost limit. Does Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania, the reigning king of strongmen in the world, have it in him to win the title of Iceman? Contestants arrive from around the world, and some of them have never set foot in snowy or icy conditions. The host country Finland will also enter representatives into the competition, which will be organised by Strongman Champions League.

The one-day competition will be held in the surroundings of Ruka Fell. Six events will be completed in three unique settings which integrate the history and culture of the area with unique snow and ice constructions, in the magnificent wilderness which the region is famous for.
At 11.00 in Chalet Ruka Peak (Crucifix & Human ski lift)
At 14.00 in Rukan Salonki (Frame carry & Conan Circle)
At 18.00 in Iisakki Village (Dead lift & Medley + prize giving ceremony appr. at 20.00)
Events:
1) Crucifix
Competitor will hold on each side 12,5 kg objects with straight arms as long as he can.
2) Human ski lift
The athlete will pull uphill arm over arm total of eight girls who are hooked to the rope with ski anchors and has cross country skis on their feet.
3) Frame carry
Competitor carries a load of 250-300 kg as soon as possible to finish line in 30 meters.
4) Conan Circle
Athlete will pick the pole up (250 kg) and will walk as long as he can hold the pole in his arms.
5) Dead lift for reps
Competitor will lift a frame of 300-350 kg during one minute as many times as possible. Weight = 2 snowmobiles.
6) Medley
Loading and truck pull harness and rope.

Please note, that there is no parking available for spectators in event locations. Instead there are public parking areas and bus transportation free of charge.
